Held every four years, it is the key event at which ITU Member States decide on the future role of the organization, thereby determining the organization\u2019s ability to influence and affect the development of information and communication technologies (ICTs) worldwide. The Conference:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"ituContainer grid\"><div data-span=\"12\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>sets the Union\u2019s general policies;<\/li><li>adopts four-year strategic and financial plans; and<\/li><li>elects the senior management team of the organization, the Member States of the Council, and the members of the Radio Regulations Board.  <\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"ituContainer grid\"><div data-span=\"12\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Plenipotentiary Conference 2022 (PP-22) will be held in Bucharest, Romania, from Monday, 26 September to Friday, 14 October 2022. It will be preceded by the last meeting of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itu.int\/en\/council\/2022\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2022 session of the Council<\/a> on Saturday, 24 September 2022.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"ituContainer grid\"><div data-span=\"12\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>PP-22 Chairman<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"ituContainer grid\"><div data-span=\"12\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mr Sabin S\u0103rma\u0219 was elected by acclamation as the PP-22 Chairman.
